Could this be part of God’s vision for 2020?

Hello from the U.S.A!

I know people read these blogs from all over the world and I’m excited to be here with you right now. Wherever you may find yourself right now know that you are not alone. There has been so many changes happening due to the corona virus and I wanted to take the time to share some sort of comfort to whomever reads this.

The beginning of 2020, my local church and other churches I enjoy watching online stated the fact that they sensed “new vision” for this year. They stated this because of 20/20 eye vision or  having “perfect vision.” I loved that idea as, I too, sensed new things coming our way.

Of course, no one knew anything like this would ever happen. But what if this is God’s vision for something new?

What something started off as a small concern from China to the US, not much later became a series of business lockdowns, restricted traveling, work/school from home, church services online, oh and lack of toilet paper in many stores.

All of this has created so much fear in people from what I’ve been able to witness on peoples social media stories, how quickly everyone restocked their pantries, and even how quiet it seems to be outdoors.

(I admit I can’t stay away from nature so I captured this image below).

Fear is contagious, but no amount of fear can ever satisfy us the way faith can…

“Lord, You alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine. The land You have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance! I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. For You will not leave my soul among the dead or allow Your holy one to rot in the grave. You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of Your presence and pleasures of living with You forever.” ~Psalm 16:5-11

I personally have avoided watching the news, reading articles, and even simply skimming through emails containing this virus information with the purpose of simply laying my faith in God. I’m not saying I don’t take precautions because most of the things we do have control over like simply washing our hands, coughing or sneezing on our arms instead of our hands, and caring for others is common sense. I’m also not saying that I don’t worry about losing my job. In fact, I do run the risk of losing my small business as well as having my car repossessed if I don’t have income to fall back on, nor do I have health insurance incase anything did happen. But you know what? It’s okay. There’s only so much we have control over anyway…

Choose to do only what you can do, and whatever we can’t do God will take care of.

If you’ve been reading my previous blogs you might have seen that I literally tattooed the word fearless on my wrist with the intention of also remembering to fear less for when fear came my way. I invite You to also fear less in this time of the unknown.

God always knows what we will need even before we ask Him to provide. Trust in Him. Maybe this is part of His divine purpose for our lives to help us reevaluate how we spend our time and money.

Pray with me,

Lord, thank You for who You are and all that I am because of You. Forgive me for my lack of faith in You. I pray for healing in this sinful world and for Your hand to wipe out this virus. You make all things new and I pray for help in surrendering all that I am and all that I have to You because it’s Yours. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.

Trust God, and Do Good 🙂
