Strange Love

LOVE LOVE LOVE… Crazy and strange love that has great power. Our love of friends, family, spouses, and selfish ambitions. All these kinds of love are stronger than we can ever imagine, yet God’s love is more powerful than we could ever comprehend.

You ever wonder if your focus is whats holding you back from what your heart really desires? It’s true. We might sometimes idolize things without even realizing it. But thank goodness for God’s grace because he will ALWAYS redirect us to what really matters most.

“But I say, walk by the spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” ~Galatians 5:16

To walk by the spirit, to me, means to obey God’s commands even when it’s hard to do so. Do I always do it, no… But believe me, when I’ve done wrong I sure suffer the consequences. So, why do I continue to do what is wrong if I know what is right? I can’t answer that question. But can anyone? All I know is that this always makes me want to learn more about God and who he is.

They say you become who you hang around with…

No one will ever be “perfect” but at least we can learn love the way God loves us.

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.”

~2 Corinthians 3:18

Any change is difficult and trying to do something we’ve never done before is hard. But we were never meant to do things alone. When you want to become a good cook, you look up to a good chef. When you want to have good grades, you seek help from a mentor. When you want to have a successful marriage, you seek advice from those who have overcome trials together. The point is, if we want to get better we seek help and obey God’s commands as we seek Him first.

“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Submit therefor yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

~James 4:6-8

Pride will never get us anywhere except only towards hitting the same brick wall. But God is love and He will always redirect our path as long as we seek Him first.

Do good, and trust God…
